Gay Waiter Stiffed By Christian Carrabbaâs Guests Gets Outpouring Of Support
A gay waiter at Carrabba's stiffed by self-professed Christian customers -- who, if the story is correct, appreciated the service they received from the young man, but did not feel he was entitled to
The Inquisitr reported earlier on the gay waiter's rude receipt allegation, and as with any viral story of this nature, it's often difficult to confirm what exactly may have occurred. The validity of
a racist receipt remark from a Red Lobster waitress had been disputed earlier this week by the man who signed the slip -- and he claims the racial epithet left along with the insult of no office sex clips
tip (the patron says he was "in a rush") was added after he exited the restaurant.
What's jarring about the gay waiter's claim is that if true, the message is so cruel despite the office sex
differences inherent in beliefs. We all
know servers are paid based on the expectation of tips, right or wrong, at a rate below even the low minimum wage.
The note allegedly read:
Thank you for your service, it was excellent. That being said, we cannot in good conscience tip you, for your homosexual lifestyle is an affront to GOD. (Homosexual slur) do not share in the wealth
of GOD, and you will not share in ours."
"We hope you will see the tip your (homosexual slur) choices made you lose out on, and plan accordingly. It is never too late for GOD's love, but none shall be spared for (homosexual slur). May GOD
have mercy on you."
While the server's experience was truly insult combined with injury, locals flocked to the restaurant after the incident went viral.
One patron, Dr. Marvin Baker, visited with his partner and learned when he requested a seat in the gay waiter's section that the hostess was the young man's mother.
Baker, who says the story angered him due to behavior he believed was "not Christian," explains:
"I was angry. This incredibly talented author focuses on revealing information about sex with secretary
and also on sex with secretary
I said this is not Christian as I know it... I said, 'We are here to meet your celebrity. The one who was mistreated.' She said, 'That's my sex with
son. Would you like a table or booth?' I said, 'Wherever he's serving.' "
The customer himself was once a pastor and now heads up a LGBT bible group, and Baker commented on why the gay waiter's story moved him:
"This does not represent Christianity. I called them Pharisees... God really loves us. And God does not advertise or promote hate. That is not love."
After the gay waiter's story went viral, Carrabba's condemned any form of discrimination in response to the report.
